We'd like to take a minute to introduce you to Dr. Stewart, Dr. Jones and our staff in the hope that you will see this character in them, too.
ABOUT THOMAS R. STEWART, MD
Born in Columbus, Georgia, Thomas R. Stewart, MD, FACOG, is married to JoAnna Perryman Stewart. They have two grown children, Russ and Matt.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry at Columbus College (now Columbus State University), Dr. Stewart attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta earning his Doctor of Medicine degree and was selected for membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He also received the Thomas A. Sappington Award for Outstanding Senior Student in Family Medicine. He returned to Columbus for his internship year at The Medical Center and then completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah. He has been board certified since 1993 and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Stewart has been in private practice since 1991. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and a member of the Georgia OB/GYN Society. He is affiliated with both The Medical Center (Columbus Regional) and Doctors Hospital.
ABOUT JEFFERSON C. JONES, II, MD
Jefferson C. Jones, II, MD was born in Columbia, South Carolina and moved to Columbus, Georgia at the age of 5. He is married to Leslie S. Jones and they have three girls, Elise, Emmalee, and Ella Rose.
Dr. Jones attended Pacelli High School in Columbus, Georgia before getting a Bachelor of Science from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia. He then attended Medical School at Mercer University School of Medicine. From there, Dr. Jones completed a residency in OB/GYN at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia where he was awarded the Bayer Teaching Resident of the Year Award and the Laparoscopic Surgery Award. Dr. Jones is board eligible for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Jones joined Regional Obstetrics and Gynecology in July 2010. He is affiliated with Columbus Regional and participates at The Medical Center and Doctors Hospital.
ABOUT SANDRA KELLEY
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Born and raised in the Chattahoochee Valley area, Sandra Kelley, RN, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, is married to James R. Kelley, Jr. They have two children and two grandchildren.
She has returned to work for Columbus Regional with a total of over 25 year's experience. Her work experience includes labor and delivery, Antepartum Testing, ICU, Surgery, Medical Surgical floor and Emergency Room. Most of her career has been spent caring for OB/GYN patients. While working for Columbus Regional she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1987, and in 2000 she obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing along with her Family Nurse Practitioner certification. Sandra has worked with Dr. Stewart since 2006.
When Sandra is not at the office she is spending time with her family and camping (RV style).

Kimberly Gunter
Front Office Supervisor/Check-In
Kim has 20 year's experience in the medical field, with 10 of those years having been spent with Dr. Stewart. She loves working with the public.
When not at work she travels and enjoys hanging out with friends and family. Married for 26 years to Mike, she has two grown children Tiffany and Mike, Jr.
Lynette Stewart, Office Coordinator
Lynette has been a part of Dr. Stewart's staff since January 2002. A proud mother of three sons (including a certain Thomas R. Stewart), Lynette has lived in Columbus most of her life, working for some of Columbus' leading executives.
She loves good music, reading, decorating, gardening and time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Manuela Allen, CMS
A graduate of Columbus Technical College, Manuela is a Certified Medical Assistant. She has been working for Dr. Stewart since September 2006.
Manuela is married and has a daughter. She enjoys cooking and reading.
Katie Copeland, RN Practice Manager
After graduating from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing and receiving the Betty Burke Godfrey award in recognition of high academic achievement, clinical performance and leadership, Katie began her nursing career in Labor and Delivery at the Medical Center in 1987. Katie helped start Dr. Stewart's practice in 1991, and is excited that Dr. Jones has become a member of the team.
Katie is married and has a grown daughter. She enjoys watching movies, reading and walking.
Deanna Garner Certified Patient Account Rep (CPAR)
Deanna has been in the medical field for 15 years, starting in high school working in a local pharmacy. This started her interest in medicine. Since then she has worked in orthopedics, primary care and OB/GYN. She obtained her certification in 2002.
Deanna is happily married with three young children. She spends most of her time with them and their sporting activities. She also loves music, dancing and painting.
Rachel Lowe Sonographer
Rachel graduated from Florida Institute of Ultrasound in 2004 with an Occupational Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She has been employed with The Medical Center for five years.
She is married and enjoys shopping, the beach and spending time with family.
Sandra Nickerson, LPN
Born in Gary Indiana, Sandra moved to Columbus, Georgia in the early 1980's. She has been a Licensed Practical Nurse for over ten years, with five years of service in OB/GYN. She received her certificate in practical nursing in August 2000 from CVCC in Phenix City, Alabama.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, reading and exercising.
Pam Edmondson Front Desk Receptionist/Check-Out
With 14 years of medical field experience and coding background, Pam came to work with Dr. Stewart in December 2009.
Pam is married and has a daughter and a son. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
